This blog explains the use of the List feature of PlantExpressTools. With the List feature you can create various types of lists within your P&ID drawing. Typical lists are equipment lists or process data lists.
When you click on the List button in the PlantExpressTools or Add-ins ribbon a dialog will appear where you can define which lists you want.
In this example you see that 4 lists have been defined.
When you double-click on the Equipment list, the wizard opens and guides you through the individual pages. On page 1 you define which classes should be included in the list and which Annotations should be used.
The reason why there are so many equipment sub-classes are selected is, that the “Mechanical Drivers” class should not be included in the list.
On page 2 you define if there should be some sort of title block.
Page 3 defines the orientation of the list in case there is an overflow.
Page 4 sets up the insertion point and area the list can use and whether it should be in Model or Paper Space.
On Page 5 you can define the name of the list.
The list can created if you use the update function of the list feature or when you save the drawing.
The following example is an excerpt of the equipment list.
And this example shows some sort of process flow data.
