Home / Plant Blog / List feature of PlantExpressTools
This blog explains the use of the List feature of PlantExpressTools. With the List feature you can create various types of lists within your P&ID drawing. Typical lists are equipment lists or process data lists.
When you click on the List button in the PlantExpressTools or Add-ins ribbon a dialog will appear where you can define which lists you want.
1 In this example you see that 4 lists have been defined.
2 When you double-click on the Equipment list, the wizard opens and guides you through the individual pages. On page 1 you define which classes should be included in the list and which Annotations should be used.
The reason why there are so many equipment sub-classes are selected is, that the “Mechanical Drivers” class should not be included in the list.
3 On page 2 you define if there should be some sort of title block.
4 Page 3 defines the orientation of the list in case there is an overflow.
5 Page 4 sets up the insertion point and area the list can use and whether it should be in Model or Paper Space.
6 On Page 5 you can define the name of the list.
7 The list can created if you use the update function of the list feature or when you save the drawing.
8 The following example is an excerpt of the equipment list.
9 And this example shows some sort of process flow data.
